Life Reset Update: Release Complete, Maintenance Begins
I’ve just completed the 6-week Release Phase of my Life Reset and now I move into the Maintenance Phase for the next six weeks.
This is where things get interesting.
The Release Phase is not about dieting. It’s about healing the body from the inside out by focusing strictly on anti-inflammatory foods. During this phase, we remove foods that can trigger inflammation, including dairy, sugar, and even fats (yes, even the healthy ones).
Now, during Maintenance, we begin to reintroduce foods one at a time, each week. This is key. By bringing foods back slowly, you learn very quickly whether you have a sensitivity. Instead of guessing, your body tells you clearly.
And if I’m being honest? The food I am most excited to welcome back is fat, specifically olive oil and salmon. I truly missed them. We’re talking about good fats, of course’ the ones that support brain health, hormones, and overall wellness.
This Is My Second Time
This is the second time I’ve completed the Release Phase, and I’ve had some interesting “aha” moments comparing this round to 2021.
Back in 2021:
- I lost 26 pounds in six weeks
- I was eating three meals a day plus snacks before starting
- I transitioned into intermittent fasting (two meals a day, no snacking)
- I lost a significant number of inches
This time is different, because I’m starting from a different place. I was already eating healthier. I wasn’t starting from “anything goes.” So naturally, the results look different.
And that’s okay.
My Current Progress
At the end of Release:
- I’m down 10 pounds
- I’ve lost 6 inches
- I’m 3.6 pounds away from where I finished in 2021
The next six weeks in Maintenance are typically slower in terms of weight loss, but progress absolutely continues. Based on where I am now, I’m confident I’ll reach my goal weight, which is simply the weight I maintained comfortably after 2021.
Why This Isn’t a Diet
The biggest takeaway?
This isn’t about restriction. It’s about restoration.
Release gets your body back on track if you have slipped, which can happen during stressful seasons (and life certainly brings those). Maintenance teaches you what works for your body.
And the long-term lifestyle looks very much like Maintenance; balanced, sustainable, and informed. It’s not about perfection.
It’s about understanding your body.
I’m grateful I chose to do this again. The physical changes are encouraging, but the internal shifts, better digestion, steadier energy, improved sleep, matter even more.
Onward into Maintenance 💙
More to come soon.
